State Road 836 Dolphin Expressway Landscaping

MDX is landscaping the recently constructed extension of the Dolphin Expressway from NW 137th Avenue to NW 87th Avenue. The agency is investing $5 million to restore and landscape areas that have previously been illegal dumping grounds. The overall project is dominated with native plantings with some exotic palms and flowering trees and shrubs. The new Dolphin Expressway will be adorned with Coconut, Sabal and Royal Palms, native Slash Pines, Bald Cypress and Red Maple Trees. Flowering Royal Poinciana and Verawood will also be installed.

Construction Schedule
Construction began in the fall of 2007 and is scheduled to be complete in the fall of 2008

Costs
The estimated project cost is $5 million
