The purpose of this project is to evaluate the potential of a new ramp connection from the existing southern terminus of SR 874/Don Shula Expressway to SW 127th Avenue. This project will provide an alternative connection to the areas west of the Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike (HEFT) and surrounding local roadways by providing access to and from SR 874.
The purpose of this project is to provide a direct connection from I-95 to SR 924/Gratigny Parkway and ultimately with other major highways within Miami-Dade County. Such a connection would provide improved access and mobility to and from major origins and destinations in northern Miami-Dade County including employment centers in the cities of North Miami, Opa-Locka, Hialeah and Miami Lakes. The project limits are SR 924 / NW 119th Street from NW 32nd Avenue to I-95 and is approximately two miles in length.
The purpose of this project is to provide a direct connection between the HEFT, I-75, SR 924/Gratigny Parkway, and SR 826/Palmetto Expressway. Such a connection would provide improved east-west access and mobility throughout the northern section of Miami-Dade County. The project limits are from SR 924 west to the HEFT.
This conceptual project would extend SR 836/Dolphin Expressway from NW 137th Avenue west and then southwest to SW 136th Street. This will provide interconnectivity with the SR 874/Don Shula Expressway Ramp Connector project. Such a connection would provide improved north-south access and mobility throughout the southwestern section of Miami-Dade County.
This project, in coordination with Miami-Dade Transit, will evaluate the use of Managed Lanes along the South Miami-Dade Busway as an opportunity to improve mobility, enhance mass transit and relieve congestion along the US-1 corridor. The proposed US-1 Express project encompasses the corridor extending from SW 88th Street/Kendall Drive on the north, to Florida City on the south, for a distance of approximately 20 miles.
The proposed Connect 4 Express would provide a north-south linkage between four, existing east-west facilities; SR 836, SR 112, SR 924 and SR 826. It will enhance north-south and east-west mobility, and relieve existing congestion on arterials and major roadways by providing an alternative to divert traffic from over-serviced north-south highways, such as the Turnpike and I-95.
MDX is evaluating ways to offer better and more convenient access to the highway system for the users of State Road (SR) 874/Don Shula Expressway, SW 72nd Street (Sunset Drive) and the surrounding community. As such, MDX has commenced a preliminary evaluation of a potential new partial interchange at SW 72nd Street to access SR 874.
A collaborative visioning and planning process to help prioritize Long Range Transportation Projects began in 2007, and was completed in early 2008. This process included participation from residents, key stakeholders and elected officials to ensure broad support of MDX's plans throughout Miami-Dade County.
