SR 874 Ramp Connector to SW 128 Street
Construction is underway on a new access ramp connection from the southern terminus of SR 874/Don Shula Expressway to SW 128th Street, including widening of SW 128th Street from two to four lanes, from SW 122nd Avenue to SW 137th Avenue. The improvement of SW 128th Street, serving mostly commercial and industrial uses, includes relocation of water and sewer lines, and harmonization of all driveways providing better access to the existing and future businesses located on this street. The SR 874 Ramp Connector provides alternative expressway access to the residents and business in the area, reducing congestion on SW 120th Street and SW 152nd Street, and providing additional connectivity and mobility to the rapidly growing area of West Kendall and Southwest Miami-Dade County.
Project Status: Construction is underway with an anticipated completion of the improvements to SW 128th Street by summer/fall 2020. The bridgework over the Turnpike continues, and the opening of the third lane northbound from Killian to Kendall has commenced providing additional capacity in this segment. The project completion date is scheduled for 2021.
